What information we collect

What personal information do we collect?

The types of personal information we may collect include contact information (such as your name, address, email address and telephone number), information on the products you purchase from us, login information, and payment method information. We do not collect or save information relating to your personal banking details or credit card numbers. Our payment services are provided by Square (https://squareup.com/au/en). We recommend you read their privacy notice in conjunction with this privacy policy.

How we use the information we collect

Personal information may be collected from emails, phone conversations, product purchases, feedback forms, enquiries, support requests, surveys, competitions and face-to-face meetings.

We may use and disclose your personal information for purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or for related purposes which would reasonably be expected by you, or for purposes to which you have consented, and in other circumstances authorised by the Privacy Act or otherwise required or authorised by law.

Generally, we may use and disclose your personal information for a range of purposes, including to:

  • enable product support with Husqvarna
  • enable repair of your product with a third party technician
  • respond to your queries or feedback;
  • analyse and improve all aspects of our business including, but not limited to, our products and services, our business systems, processes, outcomes, communication, website, marketing, engagement and performance.

Your personal information may also be used so we can:

  • provide you with any communications or publications in which we think you might be interested; and
  • let you know about developments in our procedures, products, services, activities and programs that might be useful to you,

by way of direct mail or telemarketing and (where you have opted in) by email, SMS or MMS (recipients who no longer wish to receive such communications can request to be removed from the distribution list by following the unsubscribe instructions in the relevant email, SMS or MMS).

Disclosure of personal information to other parties

We may disclose your personal information to third parties such as our professional advisers, external service providers (ie providers of repair and warranty services).

We do not sell or license your personal information to third parties.

Cookies

If you purchase a product or leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

How long we retain your data

If you purchase a product, or leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up future transactions automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
